Mizoram : Online Art Expo “Bridging Young Talents” Announces List Of ‘Lucky 7 Young Talents’

The online National Children’s Art Expo titled “Bridging Young Talents”, an initiative to showcase potentialities of youth announced the list of its ” Lucky 7 Young Talents” Award.

The Lucky 7 Young Talent awardees incorporate of – Pratiyush Kumar, New Delhi; Prisha Jha, Haryana; Angela Lalkhawngaihi, Mizoram; Ariba Waseem Khorajia, Maharashtra; Deeksha, Delhi; Mayuri Ghosh, Assam; & Tamna Rout, Odisha.

The online art expo is being organized by Aizawl-based Art Novelty Gallery in collaboration with the Art and Culture Department, Government of Mizoram; Northeast Today as the media partner; Jewel Tree, London; and IAA/AIAP India – an official partner of the United Nations Educational, Scientific & Cultural Organization (UNESCO).

The initiative aims to bridge the gap between abstract cultural issues, through canvas, a mean to express the freewheeling milieu of young and innovative artists – generally referred as the ‘governors of narrative’.

It has been curated by Lalhmingmawii – a mother of four and a self-taught artist hails from Aizawl, Mizoram.

The Founder and Chairman of Art Novelty Institute of Art & Craft as well as the proprietor of Art Novelty Gallery, Amawii is fondly known as a visual artist, whose paintings emphasize on contemporary issues of feminism and womanhood from the perspective of a Mizo community.

Meanwhile, such paintings can also be termed as a blend between modernity and indigenous cultural & traditional notions.

During an interview with Northeast Today, Lalhmingmawii earlier shared that the art exhibition aims to seek out, encourage and develop creativity from grassroots of ages between 6 to 15 years.
