The footballer-turned-politician of Sikkim, Bhaichung Bhutia lashed out at regional political parties for criticizing each other, and demanding the need for Central Bureau Investigation (CBI) probe into foiling-out their scams.
“CBI should investigate both previous government and current government scams”, asserted the football icon, and Working President of Hamro Sikkim Party (HSP).
Through a press communique issued by Bhutia, the football icon mentioned that “It is heartening to know the SKM Government is bringing CBI to Sikkim early next year. This was announced by the CM Mr. P S Golay in a speech recently. I hope this time he does keep his word and not be like any other promises he has made in the past.”
“We would like the SKM Government to let CBI investigate everything from the last Government’s scams to all the scams that are happening during the tenure of the present Government as well. Starting from scams related to Smart TV given to students, Su Swastha Yojna Scheme, all the kick backs from construction of hospital to new Universities and all PPP models given to private companies.” – the press release further reads.
“It is high time that the present Government makes public all these deals that have been signed. Hamro Sikkim Party welcomes the announcement regarding CBI but the govt cannot pick and choose which scams should be investigated. Hamro Sikkim as a party has zero tolerance policy on corruption and we want our Sikkim to be a corruption free state. The parivartan (change) the people of Sikkim can see is only in the envelopes (lifafa) getting thicker. Hamro Sikkim Party will make the youth of Sikkim Gari khane and not Thapi khane. Let us all unitedly fight corruption that benefits only a small portion of people” – adds the release.
Demands seeking for a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe has once again flared-up along the northeastern state of Sikkim, as the Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang-Golay recently joined the clamour, and informed that state government will soon initiate a CBI investigation into massive corruption.
He informed the same, while addressing the Government employees & pensioner meet recently held at Soreng.
Its worthy to note that recently Sikkimey Nagarik Samaj (SNS) has apprised the CBI about massive corruption happening in Sikkim and sought CBI probe to inspect the same.
Led by Chief Patron, Tseten Tashi Bhutia and President Bharat Basnet, the team met the CBI Director on November 17, 2021 and sought for immediate action. While, Bhutia-led party, HSP also earlier questioned the whereabouts of CBI Probe & its update.
