COVID-19 Surge : Arunachal Pradesh Registers 435 New Cases; Tally Pushed To 57,822

The northeastern state of Arunachal Pradesh have registered 435 fresh new cases thereby pushing the state’s tally of confirmed cases to 57,822 – the highest single-day spike reported so far this month in the frontier state, informed a senior health official.

However, the death toll remained unchanged at 282 as no new fatalities were reported in the past 24 hours. The Capital Complex Region comprising of – Itanagar, Naharlagun, Nirjuli and Banderdewa areas has the highest number of active cases at 138, West Kameng – 40, Namsai (35), Papumpare (26), Changlang (37), East Siang – 22 and Lohit with 28 cases, and Lower Dibang Valley reported 31 cases, Anjaw – 2, Longding (15), Tawang (3).

Arunachal Pradesh now has 1,938 active cases, while 194 more people recuperated from the disease on Wednesday, taking the total recoveries in the northeastern state to 55,602. The recovery rate now stands at 96.16 per cent.
