The Assam Police has rescued 53 cattles and apprehended seven people from Gohpur in Assam’s Biswanath District on Sunday night; informed authorities.
These arrested offenders have been identified as – Mohidul Islam, Purna Gogoi, Javed Ali, Khurshed Ali, Rofikul Islam, Sohidul Islam and Bikas Gogoi.
According to reports, the police have intercepted four Bolero pickup vehicles bearing registration numbers AS-13AC- 2062, AS_12BC- 7485, AS 12BC- 8275, AS -27 C- 7688; at National Highway 15 in the Magoni area of Gohpur and rescued these cattles.
Meanwhile, a case has been registered; and further investigation is underway.
