Agartala, April 26, 2022 : The union minister of state for Social Justice and Empowerment – Pratima Bhoumik on Monday castigated the royal scion and TIPRA Motha chairman Pradyot Kishore Debbarman for misguiding the indigenous people residing in the hilly areas of Tripura for narrow political advantages.
Addressing a joining programme at Mandwai under West Tripura District, Bhoumik said “The plights of the indigenous people should have been addressed by the royal scion Pradyot long time back. Why was he silent for many years when CPIM was in power? Pradyot had maintained a complete silence on those issues which obstructed the development of tribal populace across Tripura during the previous Leftist regime. Now, CPIM also extended its helping hand to gain a base for TIPRA Motha”.
“Pradyot’s father and mother, both were MPs and even he too served Congress party being in powerful positions, but he never spoke anything for the welfare of indigenous people”, said union minister firing verbal salvos to the royal scion.
She said, “With the formation of the BJP-IPFT coalition government led by Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb, facilities of roadways, waterways, healthcare etc were made available in the hills of Tripura. When the long-awaited dreams of common indigenous people are being fulfilled one after another by the 4-year old government, TIPRA Motha chairman has been trying to pave a path for the Leftist organization”.
Bhoumik termed the demand of “Greater Tipraland” by the TIPRA Motha as divisive. “The regional political party is making attempts to rule by creating division among people”, she added.
MoS Bhoumik welcomed over one thousand voters to the BJP from IPFT and TIPRA Motha. Pradesh BJP vice-president Patal Kanya Jamatia also attended the function in presence of other leaders of the ruling party.
