In yet another massive cattle smuggling bid, at least 27 cattles were recovered today from a motorboat at Assam’s South Salmara-Mankachar District.

According to reports, the cattle heads were meant to be smuggled into Bangladesh via river channel along the Indo-Bangladesh border.

Meanwhile, further investigation is underway to nab the smugglers.

Its worthy to note that on May 2022, the Assam police seized 45 cattle heads and arrested five alleged cattle smugglers from Nagaon district. During the operation, two trucks alongwith other vehicles were also seized.
