The Governor of Arunachal Pradesh – Brig. (Dr.) B.D. Mishra (Retd.) on Tuesday took oath as the new governor of Meghalaya, during a function held at the Raj Bhavan.
The former brigadier of the Indian Army, Brig. Mishra has been serving as the Governor of Arunachal Pradesh, since 2017 and was given the additional charge of neighbouring Meghalaya.
He succeeded Satya Pal Malik who completed his term as the Meghalaya governor on October 3.
Meanwhile, the Assembly Speaker – Metbah Lyngdoh, Meghalaya Chief Minister – Conrad Sangma; alongwith other senior cabinet ministers were also present at the function.
Taking to Twitter, the Meghalaya CM wrote “Congratulations and best wishes to @BrigMishra Ji as he takes charge as the Governor of Meghalaya. Look forward to his counsel and support as we further Meghalaya’s development. We welcome him to our beautiful State!”
