Agartala, October 12, 2022 : A 15-member delegation of Mizoram’s Aizawl Municipal Corporation led by its Executive Councillor H Zonunsanga visited Tripura’s Agartala Municipal Corporation to gather knowledge and experience in various state of affairs and implement those in their capital city.
The delegation of Aizawl Municipal Corporation led by its Executive Councillor H Zonunsanga arrived in Tripura on October 10 last. The delegates will leave for Aizawl on October 14 next. On Wednesday, Agartala Municipal Corporation Mayor Dipak Majumder welcomed all at the corporation’s conference hall here in Agartala city.
While speaking to media personnel on the sidelines of the interaction programme, Mayor Dipak Majumder said “The 15-member delegation of Aizawl Municipal Corporation is on five-day visit in Agartala city where they will go through the developmental works done by the Agartala Municipal Corporation in various sectors in the capital city of Tripura.”
“They have come here to see and understand the ways for successful implementation of door-to-door works, secondary waste segregate centres, sewerage treatment plants, etc. and implement those in Aizawl Municipal Corporation. The delegation expressed their happiness during their stay in Agartala city. In Tripura’s capital city, Agartala Municipal Corporation and Agartala Smart City Limited are working hand on hand”, said Majumder.
Mayor said that the delegates on Wednesday noon interacted with the corporators of Agartala MC. “They have invited us to visit Aizawl and we will definitely visit”, he added.
Citing some of the achievements of Agartala Municipal Corporation, Majumder said “AMC has been ranked first position under PMAY-Urban by the central government and we are also in the first place in solid waste management system among all urban bodies across the country.”
He further added that the Agartala Municipal Corporation will give a civic reception to the President of India, Draupadi Murmu and in this regard, the corporation have organized a meeting in presence of all corporators of 51 wards on Wednesday evening.
The Agartala MC Mayor Majumder was accompanied by Deputy Mayor Manika Das Datta, Corporation’s Commissioner Sailesh Kumar Yadav and others.
