Nagaland Assembly Elections 2023 : ‘First-Level Checking (FLC)’ Of EVMs & VVPATs To Continue Till October 19

In view of the upcoming General Elections to the Nagaland Legislative Assembly scheduled to be held in 2023, the First Level Checking (FLC) of Electronic Voter Machines (EVMs) & Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPATs) commenced in Nagaland from October 11, 2022; and will continue till October 19. It will cover all the District Headquarters of Nagaland.

The Deputy Commissioners (DCs) & District Election Officers (DEOs) will be coordinating the FLC at the district level.

Its worthy to note that FLC is the process of full functionality test check of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs)/Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) as a preparatory step for the conduct of the forthcoming Nagaland Legislative Assembly Election.

Altogether 34 EVMs & VVPATs Engineers from ECIL (Electronic Corporation of India Limited), Hyderabad headed by P.C. Mandal, DGM as State Co-Ordinator are deputed for the conduct of FLC of EVMs/VVPATs.

The Election Commission of India (ECI) has also deployed 8 EVM Nodal Officers from Mizoram, Jammu & Kashmir, Maharashtra, NCT Delhi, Assam, Punjab, Sikkim, and Manipur for inspection of FLC preparedness and quality check.
