The Congress leader & the party’s Presidential candidate – Shashi Tharoor has cancelled his visit to Meghalaya; as informed by a Congress official on Friday night.
According to the General Secretary of Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) – Sanjay Das, “The Indian National Congress (INC) Presidential candidate – Shashi Tharoor will not visit Shillong, due to some technical issues in his aircraft.”
As per the tour itinerary, “Tharoor, who is pitted against veteran Congress leader and Rajya Sabha MP Mallikarjun Kharge was scheduled to arrive at Umroi Airport on 1.30 PM and later interact with Congress representatives at the Congress Bhawan in Shillong.”
The Congress Party’s presidential elections will be held on October 17 and counting of votes will take place on October 19.
