The Arunachal Governor – Brig. (Dr.) B.D. Mishra (Retd) along with the Deputy Chief Minister – Chowna Mein and Minister of Rural Works Department (RWD) – Honchun Ngandam on Friday reviewed the developmental works under the concerned department at Raj Bhavan.
During the meeting, the Governor emphasized that as Arunachal Pradesh is a special category state enjoying the 90:10 funding pattern, the funds allocated to the state for development and welfare programmes must be 100 per cent used on the ground.
According to an official communique issued from the Raj Bhavan, the Governor advised the officials to develop a foolproof mechanism.
Besides suggesting the formation of monitoring committees at various levels for better supervision of the projects, he called-for the completion of projects within the given timeframe and timely submission of Utilization Certificates (UCs).
The Governor exhorted the department to “work with vision, farsightedness and accountability”, and urged the developmental officials to live up to their responsibilities towards the people.
However, Mishra commended that due to strict guidance and monitoring of the CM and Deputy CM, the developmental works are progressing smoothly in the state, which must be further streamlined and enhanced.
