A joint operation of Aizawl Battalion of Assam Rifles along with the Excise and Narcotics department of Aizawl, recovered a large stash of contraband substances worth over Rs 25 Crores from Aizawl District on Tuesday.

According to reports, the paramilitary troop confiscated 342 grams of Heroin worth over Rs 1 Crores and 70,000 Methamphetamine tablets, worth over Rs 23 Crores from Sialsuk in Aizawl district.

Based on specific inputs, the security forces set up a Mobile Vehicle Check Post (MVCP) and launched a joint operation on November 8.

The team noticed the movement of suspected vehicle at around 4 PM. The vehicle was stopped and a thorough spot checking was carried out.

During the checking, 342 grams of Heroin and 70,000 Methamphetamine tablets were recovered.

The entire consignment of Heroin and Methamphetamine tablets were seized, and two individuals were taken into custody by the joint team.
