Guwahati, July 28, 2023: Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma graced the inauguration and foundation-laying ceremony of a diverse range of infrastructure projects in Bongaigaon district, collectively amounting to ₹555 crore.

The list of projects unveiled during the event included a state-of-the-art bridge over river Aie on the Borghola-Kirtanpara road, built at a cost of ₹69 crore. Additionally, an ecopark and connected wetland development project, valued at ₹15.69 crore, was inaugurated, along with the installation of statues honoring the legendary figures Mahabir Chilarai and Mahabir Lachit Borphukan, constructed at a cost of ₹14 lakh and ₹8 lakh, respectively, situated within the district library premises. The event also marked the inauguration of a Conference Hall cum Convention Centre, an ambitious project with an approximate cost of ₹17.94 crore, along with several other initiatives.
Addressing an enthusiastic public gathering at Bongaigaon Playground, CM Sarma expressed his unwavering confidence that these 13 projects would significantly contribute to fulfilling the aspirations and dreams of the people residing in Bongaigaon.
Furthermore, CM Sarma made an important announcement, assuring the community that steps would be taken to elevate the esteemed Bongaigaon College to the status of a full-fledged university, enhancing educational opportunities for the region and opening new avenues for growth and development.
