In a remarkable turn of events, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has made significant strides in the Arunachal Pradesh Assembly Elections, as no opposition candidate stood up to challenge BJP nominees in five legislative assembly constituencies across the state.

The BJP’s stronghold was evident as no opposition candidate stepped up to contest against BJP contenders in the constituencies of Mukto in Tawang, Sagalee in Papum Pare, Tali in Kra Daadi, Taliha in Upper Subansiri district, and Roing in Lower Dibang Valley district, as per reports.

Chief Minister Pema Khandu, representing the Mukto assembly constituency, reportedly faced no opposition as he geared up for re-election.

Similarly, first-time contestant and retired engineer Techi Rotu of the BJP emerged as the sole nominee for the Sagalee assembly constituency, as informed.

In Tali, Kra Daadi, BJP’s Jikke Tako is poised to secure a second term unopposed, while BJP stalwart Nyato Dukam stands unchallenged in Taliha, Upper Subansiri.

Additionally, Roing MLA Mutchu Mithi, who recently switched allegiance to the BJP, is expected to claim victory unopposed in Roing.

Notably, PPA has reportedly recalled the party ticket from Tapi Mali, Apatani Youth Association president who had filed nomination from PPA ticket against BJP candidate for Ziro Hapoli, Hage Apa, without citing a reason.

With these developments, the BJP’s dominance looms large over Arunachal Pradesh, signaling a potential sweeping victory for the party across the state, with only a few constituencies remaining up for contention.
