Guwahati, July 24: AIUDF Chief Badruddin Ajmal has expressed disappointment over the Assam budget, calling it a “lollipop” for minorities.
Ajmal criticized the budget allocation, stating that the annual allocation of Rs 200-500 crores for minorities is insufficient and will have little impact.
He also expressed concern over the stoppage of budget for higher education, saying it will harm the future of Assam’s youth.
Furthermore, Ajmal dismissed the government’s announcement of 5 kg of free ration as a measure that will make people lazy.
“We expected a good budget for Assam, but we are disappointed,” Ajmal said, adding that the budget is only good for “listening” and lacks substance.
