Nagaland, August 8: Nagaland Junior Girls U-17 team defeated Sainik School 5-1 in their last league match of the 63rd edition of U-17 Subroto Cup 2024, but narrowly missed out on a quarter-final berth due to goal difference.

Mhalo scored four goals, while Akhrienuo added one, securing a second-place finish in Pool G with 7 points, behind NCC Mizoram who topped the group with the same number of points.

Team Manager William Koso praised the team’s performance, calling it a valuable exposure and experience for the young players.
