Tripura CM Pays Tribute To Maharaja Bir Bikram On 116th Birth Anniversary

Agartala, August 19: Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha paid tribute to Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya Bahadur on his 116th birth anniversary, hailing him as the architect of modern Tripura.

Saha praised Maharaja Bir Bikram’s progressive ideas, reforms, and contributions to education, infrastructure, and culture, saying they continue to inspire and shape the state’s destiny.

A two-day celebration was organised in Khumulwng to mark the occasion, featuring a discussion panel and exhibition showcasing Maharaja Bir Bikram’s life and contributions.

Chief Minister Saha attended the event as the chief guest and highlighted the government’s efforts to honour Maharaja Bir Bikram’s legacy, including renaming the Agartala airport after him and declaring his birthday a public holiday.

Saha also mentioned the installation of a full-length statue of Maharaja Bir Bikram at the Agartala airport, reflecting the government’s respect for the royal family.
