Gangtok, August 28: Dr. Mangaljit Rai has been elected as the new Chairman of the Sikkim State Cooperative Union (SICUN), with Purna Prasad Sharma chosen as the Vice Chairman.
The election was unanimously approved by all members present, marking a new chapter for SICUN.
In his acceptance speech, Dr. Rai emphasized the importance of social media, innovative business strategies, and continuous training and development of human resources.
Dr. Rai called on all members to work collaboratively towards the shared vision of advancing a “Sunaulo and Samridha Sikkim”.
The board also elected subcommittee members and appointed an Executive Director for the Executive Committee.
The meeting was attended by several notable dignitaries, including KP Sharma, Registrar of the Cooperation Department, and other esteemed board members.
