Itanagar, September 4: In a significant drug bust, the Arunachal Pradesh police arrested two women in Tirap district on Monday, recovering suspected heroin worth approximately Rs 2.8 lakh.
A joint team of state police and the 36th Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) conducted a raid at the accused women’s residence in Khonsa, leading to the seizure of 28.9 grams of suspected heroin.
The accused, both from Lazu village, have been booked under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985, and an investigation has been launched.
This operation follows another recent seizure in Arunachal Pradesh, where 177 grams of suspected heroin were confiscated, and a 29-year-old man was arrested. Multiple arrests and seizures have also been made in Bordumsa and Miao under the NDPS Act, as part of the police’s ongoing campaign against drug trafficking.
