Chief Minister N. Biren Singh, along with his party MLAs, Speaker, and cabinet colleagues, met Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya at Raj Bhavan on Sunday to present an eight-point resolution aimed at addressing key issues in the state. The resolution calls for immediate intervention from the Centre to restore peace in Manipur, among other critical demands.
The key points in the resolution include the Centre must take steps to ensure lasting peace in the state, a unified command structure to be handed over to the state government for better control, the abrogation of the Suspension of Operation (SoO) agreement with Kuki militant groups, expedited completion of the border fencing along the Indo-Myanmar border to strengthen security.
The resolution highlights the urgency of addressing ongoing tensions in the region and seeks immediate action from the central government to stabilize the situation. Governor Acharya assured that the concerns raised would be conveyed to the Centre for further deliberation.
