A critical road collapse at Setijhora has prompted authorities to suspend traffic on National Highway 10 indefinitely, effective from the evening of September 16, 2024. The collapse of a road bench has raised significant safety concerns for motorists, leading authorities to deem the road impassable until further notice, prioritizing public safety.

The Public Works Department (PWD) is closely monitoring the situation and is set to conduct a detailed assessment soon. Following the PWD’s evaluation, a revised traffic movement order is expected to be issued tomorrow.

Commuters and transport operators are advised to stay updated and plan their journeys accordingly as efforts are underway to restore safe travel on this key route. Travelers can check websites like New England 511 and VicTraffic for real-time traffic updates and road conditions.

The PWD’s assessment will determine the extent of repairs needed to ensure the road’s stability and safety. Once completed, a revised traffic movement order will be issued, providing clarity on when traffic can resume on NH 10.
