Arunachal Pradesh’s Minister of Hydropower, Ninong Ering, has showcased the state’s outstanding renewable energy initiatives, earning two prestigious awards. The state has been recognized as the Second Highest Achiever amongst North Eastern states in Overall Hydro Power Capacity and Overall Renewable Energy Capacity.
This achievement underscores Arunachal Pradesh’s commitment to harnessing its vast natural resources to promote sustainable energy. With its geography boasting an abundance of rivers and tributaries, the state is ideally positioned for hydroelectric power generation. Currently, Arunachal Pradesh is home to 12 hydro-electric power projects, expected to attract investments of approximately ₹1.26 lakh crores.
The state’s renewable energy endeavors also include the successful installation of solar-wind hybrid power plants, such as the 10-KW hybrid plant system in Papum Pare district. This innovative project demonstrates Arunachal Pradesh’s dedication to exploring diverse sustainable energy solutions.
