In a significant breakthrough for the Tangkhul film industry, Reingaphan Awungshi, renowned for his outstanding performance in the Tangkhul film Zingthanwo (Morning Star), has been cast in the upcoming season of Amazon Prime’s hit web series, The Family Man Season 3.
Produced by Mumbai-based D2R Films LLP, The Family Man has garnered immense popularity for its unique blend of drama, action, and dark humor. Created by Raj and DK, the series follows the story of Srikant Tiwari, a middle-class man secretly working as an intelligence officer. Awungshi will share the screen with acclaimed Bollywood actor Manoj Bajpayee and other talented actors from Northeast India, including those from Assam, Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh, and Sikkim.
“I’m thrilled to work under Jaideep Ahlawat, a prominent actor in the Indian Hindi film industry,” said Awungshi, expressing his excitement about the project. “Although my role is minor, I’m glad to be part of this major project and learn from experienced crew members.”
The Family Man Season 3 is currently being filmed in various locations, including Kohima, Meghalaya, and Mumbai. With eleven Filmfare OTT Awards, five Asian Academy Creative Awards, and two awards at the Indian Film Festival in Melbourne, expectations are high for the upcoming season.
