Agartala, Sept 23: The Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) membership drive has received an overwhelming response in Tripura and Assam, with hundreds of thousands joining the party in recent weeks.
In Tripura, Chief Minister Manik Saha congratulated the people for their enthusiastic participation, announcing that over 400,000 citizens have joined the party since September 3.
Taking to social media, Saha encouraged even more people to join the mission, saying, “Tripura joins the nationwide wave! Let’s make it even bigger!”
Meanwhile, in Assam, Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal spearheaded a daylong campaign in Dhemaji and Lakhimpur districts, where hundreds of people joined the party.
Sonowal emphasized the importance of serving society and the country, echoing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of ‘Sewa’ since 2014.
“We must strive forward and strengthen our society. A strong society will lead us to a strong country,” Sonowal said.
The BJP’s membership drive is part of its nationwide efforts to expand its base and strengthen its presence at the grassroots level.
