Manipur Police Arrest Two PREPAK Members Involved In Extortion Activities

Manipur Police arrested two active members of the proscribed People’s Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (PREPAK) for their involvement in extortion activities in Imphal West District. The arrested individuals were identified as Irungbam Nganba Meitei, aged 34, and Haobijam Sanathoi Singh, 18, also known by the alias Tomthin.

The duo was reportedly involved in extorting money from several showrooms in Imphal. During the operation, police recovered two mobile handsets, a two-wheeler vehicle, and a driving license, which were believed to have been used in connection with their illegal activities.

The arrest comes as part of an ongoing effort by the authorities to crack down on extortion and insurgent-related activities in the region. The police are continuing their investigation to track down other individuals associated with the group.
