Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma launched Mission Basundhara 3.0 at Srimanta Sankardeva Kalakshetra in Guwahati. Addressing criticism from opposition parties, including Congress and AIUDF, CM Sarma clarified that the mission aims to grant land rights to indigenous people.

“The opposition parties criticized us, but we informed them that Mission Basundhara is an initiative to provide land rights to the indigenous people of the state,” CM Sarma said. The mission is part of the state government’s efforts to simplify administrative processes and improve accessibility.

In another development, CM Sarma launched Chief Minister’s Atmanirbhar Asom Abhijan (CMAAA) 2.0, extending the state’s flagship entrepreneurial support initiative. Under CMAAA 1.0, Rs 510 crores were distributed to 25,238 entrepreneurs. CMAAA 2.0 will select 75,000 beneficiaries, who will receive entrepreneurship incentives.
