In an extensive security sweep across Manipur’s hill and valley districts, authorities conducted targeted search operations and area domination exercises in sensitive and border regions. The efforts led to significant seizures in Aigejang village and Uyok Nalla, Bishnupur District. Recovered items included a substantial cache of weaponry and riot-control gear: an SLR rifle, a sniper rifle, two bolt-action rifles, a 9mm pistol with an empty magazine, five HE No. 36 hand grenades, 18 rounds of live ammunition, various tear smoke shells, rubber bullets, stun grenades, a walkie-talkie set, bulletproof jackets, and more.
To secure the movement of essential goods, strict security was provided to convoys consisting of 143 vehicles on NH-37 and 14 vehicles on NH-2. Security forces also bolstered their presence by establishing 111 checkpoints across Manipur’s districts, leading to the detention of five individuals for violations, highlighting heightened security measures.
In a separate operation aimed at curbing illegal liquor production, Manipur Police raided suspected sites in Churachandpur District. A major raid at K Vangphai Village resulted in the arrest of two individuals and the seizure of a four-wheeler vehicle. Additionally, a raid at LFC Inn uncovered around 1,500 liters of DIC liquor and 500 cans of beer, which were subsequently destroyed.
