Dr. K. Romeo Meetei, a prominent figure in Indian sport climbing and President of the Manipur Sport Climbing Association (MASCA), has been appointed as a judge for the Asian Youth Sport Climbing Championship 2024, scheduled to take place in Tata Nagar, Jamshedpur. Dr. Meetei, who also serves as a Faculty Member in the Department of Teacher Education at Manipur University and Secretary of the Indian Mountaineering Foundation (IMF) North East Zone, brings extensive expertise to this prestigious international event.
Dr. Meetei’s appointment underscores his significant contributions and dedication to the sport, earning him recognition on a larger stage. The championship, a major event in the climbing calendar, will feature top young athletes from across Asia competing in an Olympic sport that demands both skill and athleticism.
As a judge, Dr. Meetei will join an elite panel responsible for upholding competition standards and ensuring fair assessments. Notably, he is the only National Grade-1 Judge from Manipur, having officiated at several international championships.
