Shillong, Nov 15: Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma stressed the importance of air travel in improving connectivity across the Northeastern region during the inauguration of the Sixth Helicopter and Small Aircraft Summit 2024 on Thursday. He highlighted that enhanced air connectivity is crucial for the growth of tourism, trade, health services, and other key sectors in the state.
In his address, Sangma outlined the state government’s ongoing efforts to upgrade infrastructure and tackle connectivity challenges. “Air travel is essential in achieving the development goals we have set for both Meghalaya and the broader Northeast region,” he said.
The Chief Minister also pointed out that strengthening air services would not only improve accessibility but also drive economic opportunities and attract investment to the region.
