Guwahati, Nov 21: Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma recently chaired a high-level meeting focused on bolstering the state’s education sector. During the meeting, he proposed the creation of “leader schools,” a transformative initiative aimed at setting new standards in education across Assam.
The “leader schools” will be equipped with state-of-the-art infrastructure and integrate advanced technology to foster a holistic learning environment. The project, in collaboration with the World Bank, is designed to ensure that students receive a modern, comprehensive education, preparing them for future challenges.
In addition to the leader schools, Dr. Sarma announced plans to provide scooties, tablets, and bicycles to students, aiming to improve access to education, especially in rural and remote areas.
The Chief Minister also reviewed the preparations for the upcoming teacher recruitment exams, stressing the importance of transparency and efficiency in the hiring process. The meeting further discussed the prestigious Anundoram Borooah Award, which honors the state’s top-performing students.
These initiatives reflect the Assam government’s commitment to improving the quality of education, empowering students, and building a brighter future for the state’s youth.
