Cash, Jewellery Worth Rs 1.5 Crore Looted During Attack On Manipur MLA’s Residence: Police

Imphal, 21 Nov: A violent mob attacked the residence of Kh Joykishan Singh, the JD(U) MLA from Thangmeiband in West Imphal, on November 16, looting cash and jewellery worth Rs 1.5 crore, according to police reports.

The MLA’s mother filed a complaint with the Imphal Police Station, alleging that Rs 18 lakh in cash and several valuable items, including jewellery, were stolen during the attack. The mob also caused extensive damage to items stored at the residence for internally displaced persons.

An FIR has been registered, and investigations are ongoing. Authorities have not yet made any arrests, and the motive behind the attack remains unclear. The incident has raised concerns about the security situation in the region.
