Border Security Force (BSF) personnel in Assam’s Bhogdore village swiftly responded to a fire emergency, evacuating residents and preventing the blaze from spreading to neighboring homes. The prompt action of the BSF troops ensured no casualties and limited damage to one house.

The fire broke out at around 9:45 AM at the residence of Najrul Hoque. Nizamuddin Ahmed, Vice President of Bhogdore Gram Panchayat, reported the incident, prompting an immediate response from BSF troops of the 19 Battalion, BOP Bhogdore, who rushed to the scene with firefighting equipment.

BSF personnel evacuated children, elderly individuals, and women from nearby kuccha houses, while another team worked to extinguish the fire using available tools. Thanks to the coordinated efforts of the BSF and local villagers, the fire was brought under control within 30 minutes, preventing it from damaging 14 nearby houses. The affected house sustained only minor damage, and no injuries were reported.

The swift and compassionate response of the BSF was praised by the villagers, emphasizing the force’s dedication to the safety and well-being of border communities in Assam.
