Mizoram Police Seize Heroin Worth Rs 2.41 Crore, Three Arrested

Mizoram Police seized over 8 kilograms of heroin, valued at Rs 2.41 crore, in Aizawl on Tuesday, making it the largest drug haul in the state’s history. Three individuals, including a woman, were arrested in connection with the recovery.

The CID Special Branch of Mizoram Police acted on a tip-off and intercepted two vehicles in Aizawl’s Thuampui area. The drugs were found hidden in 664 soap cases, concealed within 1,939 foreign cigarette packets.

The heroin, weighing a total of 8 kg, was estimated to be worth Rs 2.41 crore in the local market. The three suspects, all from Champhai’s Tlangsam locality, were arrested for trafficking the narcotics. In addition to the heroin, authorities seized the two vehicles and four mobile phones belonging to the accused.
