Imphal, Nov 30: Eight individuals have been arrested in connection with recent attacks on a police station and the residences of lawmakers in Manipur, the police announced on Saturday.

The arrested include 20-year-old Chongtham Thoicha from Kiyam Mamang Leikai in Imphal West, who was detained on Thursday for his involvement in the arson attack on the properties of elected representatives on November 16. Seven others were arrested for attacking the Kakching police station and its personnel on November 27.

Authorities are continuing their investigation as tensions remain high in the region.
