Imphal, Dec 4: Sit-in protests were organized in Kakching district on Tuesday, with women demanding the withdrawal of cases filed against Korou Nganba Khuman, the leader of the Meitei radical group Arambai Tenggol. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) is investigating Khuman and Kuki militants in connection with attacks on security forces and an IED explosion in the state.
The protests took place in areas including Wangoo, Tangjeng, Pangaltabi, and Chairel, where participants held placards calling for the removal of charges against Khuman. The protests come amidst ongoing unrest in the region.
