Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh strongly condemned the brutal killing of two young brothers, Sunalal Kumar (18) and Dasharat Kumar (17), hailing from Bihar, in Kakching district. Taking to X, the Chief Minister described the incident as “an act of terrorism” and extended his deepest condolences to the grieving families.
“This act of terrorism is a direct assault on our values,” Biren wrote. He also raised concerns about the possibility of the crime being part of a larger conspiracy aimed at destabilizing the state. “We must stand together against these destructive forces and ensure they do not succeed in creating fear and insecurity,” he urged.
The Chief Minister announced an ex gratia of ₹10 lakh for each bereaved family and assured that every effort is being made to identify, apprehend, and prosecute the culprits. He also mentioned the potential involvement of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) for a thorough and impartial inquiry if necessary.
