The Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (MDONER) will organize the Northeast Trade and Investment Roadshow in Mumbai on Monday, with Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha and Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma among the key participants. Union Minister for MDONER, Jyotiraditya M. Scindia, will also address the event.

The Roadshow will feature prominent officials, including Chanchal Kumar, Secretary of MDONER, Monalisa Dash, Joint Secretary of MDONER, along with senior representatives from various Northeast states. The event will facilitate business-to-government (B2G) meetings, offering investors an opportunity to directly engage with state representatives and explore investment prospects across several sectors.

In collaboration with FICCI and Invest India, this Roadshow is the sixth in a series designed to attract investments to the eight North Eastern states: Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, and Tripura. Participating states will showcase investment opportunities in sectors such as agri-food processing, IT, infrastructure, tourism, healthcare, and education.

This initiative is part of broader efforts to enhance infrastructure in the Northeast, including developments in roadways, railways, airways, and waterways under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Previous roadshows in cities such as Mumbai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, and Bengaluru have generated significant interest from investors, and the Mumbai event is expected to build on this success.

The North East Investors Summit will also be held on March 6, 2024, at Vigyan Bhawan to further promote investment in the region.
