Itanagar, Dec 17: A 22-year-old man was critically injured in an attack by a wild elephant on Monday afternoon in Dobam village, located in the Banderdewa circle of Arunachal Pradesh. The incident occurred around 2:30 pm when Chukhu Obi, a resident of the village, ventured into the forest to check on his Mithuns and was charged by a tuskless male elephant.
Local authorities, along with residents, quickly reached the spot after receiving information. A team led by Kipa Hamak, Officer-in-Charge of Banderdewa Police Station, assisted in rescuing the victim and arranging for medical evacuation. The attack highlights growing concerns over human-wildlife conflict in the area, with authorities launching an investigation into the incident.
