Guwahati, Dec 20: Bhupen Borah, president of the Assam Pradesh Congress Committee, was arrested by the police on Friday, December 20, in Guwahati amid ongoing protests following the death of Congress worker Mridul Islam during a Raj Bhavan demonstration on December 18.
Along with Borah, former MP Ripun Bora, senior Congress leader Uday Bhanu Chib, and party spokesperson Ratul Kalita were also detained by the police. The arrested leaders are currently being held at the 10th APBn in Kahilipara, Guwahati.
