Itanagar, Dec 23: Chief Minister Pema Khandu of Arunachal Pradesh has been formally invited to attend the Maha Kumbh Mela 2025, scheduled to be held at the Triveni Sangam in Allahabad (Prayagraj), Uttar Pradesh, from January 13 to February 26, 2025. The invitation was extended by Uttar Pradesh’s Minister for Tourism and Culture, Jayveer Singh, and K.P. Malik, Minister of State for Forest, Environment & Climate Change.
The Maha Kumbh Mela, one of the largest spiritual gatherings in the world, is expected to draw 40-45 crore devotees. The event will feature important rituals such as the Paush Purnima Snan and Maha Shivratri Snan, in alignment with the astrological positioning of the Sun, Moon, and Jupiter in Aquarius.
In his response, CM Khandu stressed the importance of fostering deeper cultural exchanges between Arunachal Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh under the Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat initiative. He urged the people of Arunachal to engage with Uttar Pradesh’s rich spiritual traditions while also sharing their own unique cultural heritage.
Khandu expressed his gratitude to the Uttar Pradesh ministers for the invitation and encouraged the people of Arunachal Pradesh to take part in this monumental event, celebrating both faith and cultural unity.
