The Naga civil society organisations have strongly condemned the alleged physical assault on the executives of the Senapati District Students’ Association (SDSA) by Kuki volunteers at the Gamgiphai Kuki Check Post on the night of December 22.

In a statement, the SDSA described the incident as a “brutal assault and harassment,” alleging that their members were subjected to aggressive physical attacks and verbal abuse, even after identifying themselves as SDSA executives.

The incident has sparked widespread condemnation, with the Mao Students’ Union and Poumai Naga Tsiidoumai Me (PNTM) issuing separate statements denouncing the attack and expressing solidarity with the SDSA.

The organisations have called for accountability and urged authorities to ensure justice for the victims.
