Manipur: Security Forces Recover Cache Of Arms, Explosives From Churachandpur, Imphal East

In a significant breakthrough, security forces recovered a large cache of explosives and weapons from multiple locations in Manipur.

In Lesiang village, Churachandpur district, security personnel seized the items including Cordtex: 40 meters, Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs): 9 units, each with detonators, Non-Electric Commercial Detonator: 1 unit and Safety Fuse: 30 cm.

In another operation in Teijang village, Churachandpur, Rockets: 3 units, .303 Rifle with Magazine: 1 unit, Pistols with Magazines: 4 units, Pompi (Explosive Device): 1 unit, Pompi Bombs: 5 units, Low-Grade Explosive Sticks: 45 units, Detonators: 14 units, 7.65mm Pistol: 7 rounds, 9mm Pistol: 10 rounds, .303 Rifle: 1 round and self-loading Rifle (SLR): 3 rounds were recovered.

In the Ngariyan hill ranges near Sandangsemba Maring village, Imphal East, 7.62mm Light Machine Gun (LMG) with Magazine: 1 unit, 12 Bore Single Barrel Gun: 1 unit, 9mm Pistol with Magazine: 1 unit, Hand Grenades with Arm Rings: 2 units, Tube Launchers: 2 units, 7.62mm LMG: 30 rounds, 12 Bore Cartridges: 2 rounds and 9mm: 2 rounds were seized.

These operations highlight the ongoing efforts by security forces to curb illegal arms and explosives in the region. Investigations are underway to identify those responsible for the storage and transportation of these items.
