Congress leader Ripun Bora has responded sharply to Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, accusing him of speaking out of frustration over the growing popularity of the Congress party. Bora’s remarks came after Fadnavis accused Congress of distorting speeches to tarnish the reputations of BJP leaders such as Amit Shah and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Bora argued that Fadnavis’s statement reflected frustration within the ranks of the BJP. He also defended Congress, highlighting the historical contributions of the Gandhi family and challenging the BJP to name any leader who had made significant sacrifices for the nation. Bora further emphasized that Congress has always shown respect for leaders like Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar.
The dispute escalated after Fadnavis’s comments on December 25, accusing Congress of editing videos, particularly involving Amit Shah, to mislead the public. The Maharashtra CM demanded an apology from Congress for politicizing the issue and disrupting Parliament.
Fadnavis also claimed that Congress was attempting to diminish Dr. Ambedkar’s legacy and regain political ground following Prime Minister Modi’s speech, which he argued exposed Congress’s disrespect for the Constitution.
