Agartala, December 28, 2024: Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha highlighted the critical need to store negative blood groups in blood banks, emphasizing the importance of spreading awareness about blood donation. His remarks came during a blood donation camp organized by the Nine Bullets Club.
Commending the club’s leadership, Saha stated, “I am pleased to see that the President and Secretary of the club are women. Our government is committed to the welfare of women. It’s heartening to be part of such initiatives. The government will continue working for the development of society, and events like blood donation camps contribute to creating a healthy environment.”
The Chief Minister also reiterated the state’s commitment to achieving a “Nasha Mukta Tripura” (Drug-Free Tripura). He called on community clubs to actively participate in combating the drug menace, adding, “This mission can only succeed if every club comes forward. Regular discussions on social awareness, at least once a week, can make a significant difference.”
Saha underlined the unmatched value of blood donation and urged collective efforts to ensure a steady supply in blood banks. “Negative blood groups constitute about 15% of the total. It’s essential to prioritize their storage while maintaining a balanced collection. Awareness is the key to encouraging blood donation, and I make it a point to attend blood donation camps whenever invited,” he remarked.
