Longding’s Mom Niting claimed a remarkable hat-trick of titles at the 3rd Junior State Ranking Badminton Tournament-2024, which concluded on December 29 in Keyi Panyor district, Arunachal Pradesh. Niting triumphed in the boys’ U-17 and U-19 singles, as well as the boys’ U-19 doubles events.
In both singles finals, Niting faced Pangdun Pansa from the same district, defeating him to clinch the titles. Biri Karakoram of Keyi Panyor and Marmin Uli of Lower Siang shared third place in the boys’ U-17 singles, while Vikash Limbu of West Siang and Kangun Jamoh of Siang secured third in the U-19 singles.
In the boys’ U-19 doubles, Niting partnered with Pansa to win the title, defeating Chipe Riram and Marmin Uli of Lower Siang. The third place in this event was shared by Anil Biswakarma and Nabam Komchi of RGUSCB, along with Gotum Sonar and Moses Sangbia of East Kameng.
Laa Anu of Kamle won the girls’ U-19 singles title, overcoming Jamba Waii of East Kameng in the final. The third position was shared by Gyamar Aniya of Keyi Panyor and Amijo Tangu of East Siang.
In the boys’ U-17 doubles, Chipe Riram and Marmin Uli won the title, defeating Chomsam Kungkho and Joram Dolo of Keyi Panyor. The third-place finishers in the U-17 doubles were Biri Karakoram-Byabang D. Dui of Keyi Panyor and Anil Biswakarma-Robin Sapam of RGUSCB.
The tournament concluded with MLA Laisam Simai presenting the prizes to the winners during the closing ceremony.
