Agartala, January 01, 2025: The winter session of the Tripura Legislative Assembly is set to begin on January 10 and will span three days, concluding on January 15. The decision was finalized unanimously during a meeting of the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) held on Monday, informed Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ratan Lal Nath.
“Today, the Business Advisory Committee met in the Legislative Assembly to finalize the schedule for the winter session,” Nath said. He further explained that, as per tradition, the first session of the Assembly in the new English calendar year will begin with the Governor’s address. “Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu will deliver the address on the opening day, setting the tone for the session,” he added.
During the session, the Governor’s speech will outline the state government’s plans and policies for the upcoming year. Additionally, the Tripura government is set to introduce two bills during the session. “There is a possibility of a third bill being introduced as well,” Nath noted.
Looking ahead, the Minister mentioned that the budget session for the state will commence in March. “The winter session and subsequent budget session are crucial for deliberating on the state’s development agenda,” he remarked.
The winter session promises to be an important platform for discussing legislative and administrative priorities for the year ahead.
