Guwahati, Jan 3: The Assam government has announced that May 13 will be observed as the ‘Day Against Superstitious Beliefs’ to promote scientific awareness and rational thinking. The official notification was issued by Governor Laxman Prasad Acharya on Thursday.
The date was selected in memory of Birubal Rabha, a renowned social activist and Padma Shri awardee, who campaigned against witch hunting and other superstitions in the state.
