Agartala, January 04, 2025: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is poised for a significant organizational overhaul with the dawn of the New Year. The party is preparing to elect new state presidents across the country in the coming weeks, according to a senior BJP source.

On Thursday, the BJP announced the appointment of election officers tasked with overseeing the selection of state and union territory presidents. These officers will also manage the elections for the party’s National Council membership, the source added.

The reshuffle process has already commenced, with senior ministers entrusted to guide the organizational changes. In the initial phase, Mandal Presidents were appointed for all 60 assembly constituencies. With this phase complete, the focus now shifts to selecting District Presidents for the 10 organizational districts. The appointments will adhere to the guidelines set by the party’s central leadership, with a preference for younger leaders to take on key roles, sources revealed.

Union Minister for Tribal Affairs Jual Oram has been assigned the responsibility of overseeing the election of the new state president in Tripura. Similarly, Union Minister Bhupendra Yadav will supervise the process in Gujarat. Other notable appointments include Union Ministers Shivraj Singh Chouhan for Karnataka, Manohar Lal Khattar for Bihar, and Dharmendra Pradhan for Madhya Pradesh.

In Andhra Pradesh, MP P.C. Mohan will lead the elections, while Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal will handle Arunachal Pradesh. Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat will oversee Assam, and Union Minister Piyush Goyal will manage Uttar Pradesh. Additional responsibilities have been assigned to Vinod Taware for Chhattisgarh, Sunil Bansal for Goa, and Union Minister Jitendra Singh for Himachal Pradesh.

This comprehensive restructuring aims to strengthen the party’s organizational framework and ensure effective leadership ahead of upcoming electoral challenges.
