Agartala, January 11, 2025: Tripura’s Rajya Sabha MP Rajib Bhattacharjee on Saturday squarely criticized the CPIM and Congress parties for their insult to the architect of Indian Constitution Dr BR Ambedkar.
The Swasti Bazar Merchant Association organized a mega blood donation camp ahead of World Youth Day. The event was held at Swasti Bazar on Hariganga Basak Road Rajya Sabha MP Rajib Bhattacharjee, Agartala Municipal Corporation Mayor Dipak Majumdar, corporators, and other dignitaries.
Speaking to the media persons, MP Bhattacharjee emphasized the significance of Swami Vivekananda’s teachings, stating, “Swami Vivekananda is the inspiration for the youth of India. Youth Day is being organized to commemorate his birth anniversary and to honor his contributions to society.”
The Youth Front of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has decided to recognize youth icons who are making significant contributions to society. “We are honoring those who are working for the benefit of society, and this initiative is a special celebration of their efforts,” Bhattacharjee added.
Regarding Gaurav Diwas, Bhattacharjee remarked, “The Bharatiya Janata Party has organized Gaurav Diwas to pay due respect to Dr. BR Ambedkar. However, the Congress and the CPIM are attempting to spread confusion about Dr. Ambedkar’s legacy.”
He called for an end to such misleading programs and criticized the Congress and CPIM for their historical treatment of Dr. Ambedkar. “The Congress government deprived Ambedkar of the Bharat Ratna. Indira Gandhi and Jawaharlal Nehru did not even care about Dr. Ambedkar getting elected to Parliament. Every time he fought elections, these Congress parties insulted and defeated him,” Bhattacharjee alleged.
He further stated, “They have no right to hold any meeting or procession about Baba Saheb Ambedkar. They have repeatedly insulted the country’s constitution maker and the constitution itself. It was only after the Narendra Modi-led government came to power in 2014 that Dr. BR Ambedkar received the real respect he deserved.”
