Arunachal Pradesh’s Golden Jubilee Outdoor Stadium in Yupia has officially received the Class 2 Athletics Facility Certificate from World Athletics. Announced on January 14, 2025, this certification confirms that the stadium’s Gallant Track meets the international standards required to host World Athletics competitions.
The certification process involved extensive testing and inspections by international agencies such as Nopnada Group Limited Partnership, Sportline Montenegro, and Kanstet Ltd. The certificate, which is valid until July 2029, enables the stadium to host national and international athletic events.
This achievement marks a significant step in the development of sports infrastructure in Northeast India. The Golden Jubilee Stadium is now one of the few internationally certified athletic venues in the country. Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu expressed pride in the accomplishment, noting that the project is the second of its kind in India and the first in the Northeast to be completed under the “Make in India” initiative.
The certification is expected to drive further sports development in the region and strengthen India’s growing sports infrastructure.
